Abstract:
This paper addresses the problem of location of mobile devices without the use of specific hardware, or mapping phase of probabilistic models for the propagation of the signal. We present a middleware to locate devices in a real environment for pervasive computing. This system is based on collections of signal intensities of the mobile device by network manager WICD, which sends the data to a remote location. Such data are needed to demonstrate graphically the possible location of the user environment. Our experimental results show that the proposal is valid in order to provide service to a physical location.
